1 | U.S.A. - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND Depart U.S.A. for Auckland by night flight via Hong Kong. |
2 | Cross the International Date Line |
3 | Auckland, known as the "City of Sails", is the largest city in New Zealand. Our city tour begins upon arrival, includes visits to the Harbor Bridge, King's Domain, then drive up to Mount Eden, the highest point in Auckland, for a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding blue ocean, and also the luxurious residential areas along Tamaki Drive. After lunch, we proceed to the famous Kelly's Tarltons Underwater World where we will see the rare and colorful sea creatures. |
4 | Auckland - Waitomo - Rotorua A southbound drive along the Waitomo River takes us to the well-known limestone Waitomo Glowworm Caves, a luminescent world of thousands and thousands of flowing glowworm. The next stop on our sightseeing program is one of New Zealand's most popular tourist site, Rotorua, a place inhabited by the indigenous Maori People. Before dinner, there is time for leisure stroll along the lovely Rotorua Lake. Tonight, enjoy a traditional Maori Hangi Feast and a cultural performance of songs and dances. |
5 | The highlight of our visit at Rotorua is Rainbow Farm, where the villagers demonstrate the art of sheep shearing and milking, and the smart sheepdogs display their amazing herding skills. There is a chance to spot the precious and very rare Kiwi Birds. They are New Zealand's national treasure. Later, we visit the Whakarewarewa, a Maori village set amidst a thermal reserve. There are cultural artifacts and traditional handicrafts on exhibit. There are also natural wonders on display: the numerous bubbling mud pools and geysers. Before dinner, you may want to enjoy an optional hot bath at a thermal spring. |
6 | Depart Rotorua for Auckland after breakfast. We make a photo stop at the breathtakingly beautiful Blue-Green Lake. The sperate blue and green colors of the lake has a magical, other wordly quality to it. Later, the mighty Huka Falls and the nearby volcanoes come into view at Lake Taupo. Afternoon arrival at Auckland. Rest of the day is at leisure. |
7 | Board the morning flight to Melbourne, the second largest city in Australia and was voted one of the most livable cities in the world. Enjoy breakfast aboard. Upon arrival we immediately travel to Philip Island, a natural animal reserve. We visit a museum devoted to the rare giant earthworms. The highlight today is the fantastic parade by the fairy penguins on Summerland Beach. Tonight, enjoy a dinner of the famous Australia lobster. |
8 | Our sightseeing tour of Melbourne includes visits to the central business and commercial areas, the financial center in Collins Street, Parliament House, Captain Cook's Cottage, and the Shrine of Remembrance. On our way to Albury, we pass by St. Patrick's Cathedral, the Opera House and the newly built Concert Hall. |
9 | erra is the capital of Australia. Our city tour takes us to the Royal Australia Mint, War Memorial Park, Parliament House, the Embassy Area and the diplomatic residential areas. In the afternoon, we visit Mt. Ainslie and Regatta Point Exhibition for an introduction to the history of the city's development. |
10 | Proceed by motorcoach to the scenic Blue Mountain Area. A cable car ride takes us up to the top of the mountain. There are the amazing Echo Point, the Three Sisters Rock, an unusual and enchanting rock formation. Later, a visit to the world famous Australian Wildlife Park for a close encounter with Kangaroos and the cuddly Koala. Overnight in Sydney, the largest city in Australia. |
11 | This morning, a sightseeing drive of this splendid city by the sea passes the famous Bondi Beach, the marvelous Sydney Opera House, the historic Rocks, the 2000 Olympic Games Sites and more. We end our tour with a cruise to give us a close view of the magnificent harbor. |
12 | If time permits, you may want to do last minute shopping and sightseeing on your own before the transfer to the airport for your homebound flight. |
