USA - Madrid

Overnight flight to Madrid, the Spanish capital.

Arrive in Madrid

Upon arrival in Madrid, our sightseeing tour takes you to the Plaza Espana with its monument to Cervantes, the Parliament and the Royal Palace.  Then the highlight: a visit to the palatial Prado Museum with its priceless art treasures.

Madrid - Toledo - Cordoba - Seville

 

In the morning, a short drive to Toledo, the ancient Castilian capital.  A sightseeing tour takes you to the Moorish bridge, the fabulously rich Gothic Cathedral, and the church of Santo Tome with one of El Greco’s most famous paintings.  Afternoon, we drive to Cordoba, where you will visit the magnificent 8th-Century mosque, famous for its 850 pillars of porphyry, marble, and jasper.  Later, we proceed to the vibrant, festive Seville.

Seville - Granada

 

Admire the pools and fountains of Maria Lusia Park.  Drive to the Gold Tower on the Guadaquivir River, and the fine Baroque University.  Visit the Cathedral with Columbus’ tomb, and finally stroll through the charming Santa Cruz Quarter.  Then, a characteristic landscapes leads to the splendors of Granada, where an optional Flamenco Folk Show can be arranged.

Granada - Valencia

 

Savor Granada’s main attraction, the Alhambra, a mighty yet graceful citadel begun by the 13th –Century ruler Al Ahamar.  Also amber through the exotic Water Gardens of Generalife.  Then, we drive along the coastline to Valencia, once a royal capital and now a sunny garden city surrounded by orange groves. Orientation start out with a delightful drive past landmarks such as the Town Hall, La Seo Cathedral, and the massive gateway towers of Serranos and Quart.  Then, enjoy a famous Paella Dinner.

Valencia - Barcelona

 

Morning drive to Barcelona, Spain’s second largest city and the host of the Olympic Games of 1992.  Afternoon, we take an excursion to Monjuich Hill for a panoramic view of  the city, harbor and Olympic stadium.  Then visit the Columbus Monument, Elegant tree-lined Ramblas, historic Gothic Quarter with Cathedral and Holy Family Cathedral designed by Antoni Gaudi.
